Olin nimelt leidnud netiavarustest lehe, kus müüdi India siidilõngasid. Ja väga normaalse hinnaga. Otse loomulikult ostsin siis vähe erinevaid lõngu, teadmata, mida ma neist teen. Noh sellest jämedamast (100g/1500m) tegin sügisel ühe Shetlandi stiilis salli. Lõnga jagub veel mitmeks salliks.
Let’s start at the beginning of this year.
At the beginning of January, I presented myself with a new challenge. Shetland style scarf made of even thinner silk yarn. The yarn has been waiting for use since the autumn of 2019. I had found a page on the internet selling Indian silk yarns. And at a very normal price. Of course, I bought a few different yarns then, not knowing what I was making of them. Well, I made a Shetland-style scarf out of that thicker one (100g / 1500m) in the fall. There are so much of this yarn left, that I could do maybe 5 or 6 scarves more in this size.

This time I decided to make a scarf out of this finer silk. The size of the yarn is 100g / 3000m.
And the rule is that when you can see the yarn, you can knit something from it.
I chose the “Little Secret” scarf created by apassionforlace (Monique Boonstra).
Siin on algus. Mõlemal poolil on 50 grammi (1500m) lõnga, vardad 1,5mm.

Tegelikult ma mõtlesin ,et see võiks olla selline pika-ajaline projekt, sest mul on laos liiga palju valmis pitssalle. Noh, ma kudusin seda natuke alla kolme nädala. Kaks samasugust osa korraga töös. Jaanuari lõpus saabus päev kui sain täitsa üksi kodus olla, siis võtsin ette ja silmasin tükid kokku.
Seejärel see sall ootas kaks kuud, et ma ta viimistletud saaks.

I actually thought, that this could be the long lasting project, as I have too much laceshawls and -wraps already in my storage. Well, it took me little less than 3 weeks to knit (two pieces at the time) and at the end of January, when I had time alone at home, sewed pieces together with kitchener stitch.
And then the scarf was waiting for me to block it….for almost two months.

Salli mõõtudeks tuli 55 x 180cm. Kaal 32 grammi.

Seejärel ma võtsin pitsist natuke puhkust ja kudusin ühed täiesti tavalised sokid. Kudumiseks kulus umbes nädal, sest tööl oli ka vaja käia.
After that shawl I took a break from lace and knitted the pair of socks. Took me about one week, because of daywork, You know.

Vahepeal alustasin uut Shetlandi pitsiprojekti, oma tavalisest pitsilõngast. Ei jaksanud oodata, millal kuu alguses tellitud õige lõng (100g/3000m, 100% meriino) kohale jõuab. Ei pääsenud väga kaugele, kolmanda mustrikorra järel saabus õige lõng ja ma harutasin selle “vale” alguse üles ning panin õige varrastele.
In the meantime, I started a new Shetland lace project, from my regular lace yarn. I couldn’t wait for the right yarn (100g/3000m; 100% merinowool), I ordered at the beginning of the month, to arrive. Well, I didn’t get very far, after the third repeat of the pattern, the right yarn arrived and I pulled up the “wrong” start and put the right one to my needles.
See töö on mul siiamaani vahelduva eduga käsil ja pausil.
Kuna tegemist on järjekordselt õhukese lõngaga ja sall on tunduvalt suurem, tundus mulle, et vahepeal võiks paar kampsunit kududa- saaks midagi isegi valmis.
Nii ma siis ostsin Islandi villalõnga Lettlopi (50g/100m; 100% vill) ja kudusin norra malli Alasuq. Kudusin lihtsalt seepärast, et see on ilusa mustriga kampsun ja pool aastat oli peas tiksunud mõte lõnga toonist milkyway (põhivärvina) kuna keras tundus see üliahvatlev.
Kampsun tuli mulle suur, seega otsib uut omanikku.
I still have this under the work, with varying degrees of success.
Since it is another thin yarn and the scarf is much bigger, it seemed to me that in the meantime a couple of sweaters could be knitted – something could even be finished.
So I bought Lettlopi (50g/100m; 100% wool), an Icelandic wool yarn, and knitted the sweater in Norwegian pattern Alasuq. I knitted it just because it is a sweater with a beautiful pattern, and for half a year there was a thought in my head about the yarn called “milkyway” (the main color), because it seemed very attractive.
The sweater is too big for me, so it’s looking for a new owner.
Lõnga kulus 770 grammi. Vardad 4,0mm ja 4,5mm. Kampsuni suurus L/XL.
Yarn consumption was 770 grams. Needles 4.0mm and 4.5 mm. Sweater is size L/XL.
Järgmiseks ja hetkel viimaseks kudusin Kittilä kampsuni. (muster on sündinud Kittilä valla poolt korraldatud disainimis võistluse tulemusena) See oli testi kudumine. Kasutasin jällegi Istexi lõnga, Plötulopi sel korral. Kudusin seda terve nädala, kuna nädalasse jäid ka mõned puhkusepäevad.

The next and the last for now, is Kittilän villapusero/Kittilä’s wool sweater (designed for contest of sweater patterns, suitable for Kittilä county). It was testknitting. I used once again Istex yarn, Plötulopi at this time. Knitted it for a week, as I had some vacation days in this week too.
Yarn was 100g/300m, unspun wool yarn. Needles 3,0mm and 3,5mm. Yarn consumption 325 grams.
Size of the sweater is M.
