Ma tõesti olen kudunud. Aga mitte salli vaid väikeseid asju, mida kutsutakse Leivarättideks.
See on vana traditsioon minu kodumaalt, Eestist, seega ma püüan seda natukene selgitada…
I really have been knitting. But not a shawl, but little things called “Bread cloth”.
It is an old tradition from my homeland, Estonia. So I try to explain it a little bit…

Tegemist on kootud rätiga, mida kasutati (ehk mõned kasutavad veelgi) soolaleiva-kingituse kaunistusena. Oli komme kinkida sel puhul uude elupaika kolinutele värsket rukkileiba koos väikese soolakotikesega ja leivarätt kuulus sinna juurde.
So it is the knitted cloth that was (maybe some people use it yet) used to decorate the present quests gave to person (couple etc) who was moving in to new place to live. Then was tradition to give fresh baked bread (rye bread/black bread) and the little sachet of salt and with these there was this bread cloth.

Need leivarätid on tehniliselt kootud samuti nagu Haapsalu salli kootakse, ainult lõng on puuvillane. (beezil/helepruunil rätil on pits kohe külge kootud, mitte külge õmmedud) Mustrid on erinevatest pitsiraamatutest.
These bread cloths are knitted in same technique than Haapsalu shawl is done, but the yarn is cottonwool. (On the light brown cloth the edgelace is knitted on, not sewn on) Patterns are from different lace-books.

Lõngad sain ühelt oma sõbralt, seega mul on nendest suhteliselt vähe infot. Mõned on Novita heegellõngad, aga mõned on muud ja mul puudub info nende kohta.
I got these yarns from one of my friends, so I have very little information about. Some of them are Novita crochet-yarns, but there are something else, I have no knowledge about.

Et siis ma lihtsalt panen siia mõned pildid ja ei muud.
So I add some pictures and thats it.

Today was a Little Fair -day in our village, so thats how my table looked like.
